Sage V Foods is a leading rice production company with a strong commitment to quality, food safety, and our people. At our Little Rock facility, we rely on a talented team to keep operations running smoothly. We’re looking for an Ammonia/Boiler Technician to help us maintain and operate our refrigeration, boiler, and plant utility systems in a safe and efficient manner.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors, and plant utilities.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to keep equipment reliable.
- Conduct daily inspections and log operational data.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, IIAR/PSM/RMP, USDA, and BRC food safety standards.
- Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and emergency calls to minimize downtime.
- Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to support plant operations.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school a plus.
- 2+ years of experience with ammonia refrigeration and/or boiler operation (food manufacturing experience preferred).
- RETA Certification (CARO/CIRO) or boiler operator license is a plus.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards, IIAR/PSM, RMP, and food safety compliance.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.
- Able to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, and noisy environments.
