Job Duties- Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings
- Assemble and weld specialized heavy-steel structures
- Set up and operate according to standardized procedures; weld components in one or multiple layers
- Inspect welds for quality, clean, and prepare for final treatment/finishing
- Move and manipulate heavy parts using overhead cranes or walkways
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Vocational training, welding certification, or technical education is beneficial.
- 3 years of experience performing hands-on welding and fabrication experience working with heavy steel structural materials using linear, multi-layer, and vertical welding techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of welding equipment setup, welding techniques, and safe operating procedures.
- Ability to accurately measure, fit, and prepare materials prior to welding.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
- AWS Welding Certification preferred
- MAG Welding experience preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, structural welding, or production environments is preferred.
- Experience using grinders, saws, cutting equipment, and metal fabrication tools is beneficial.
- Knowledge of weld inspection, blueprint interpretation, and quality control procedures is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate craftsmanship, dependability, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Welding Technician.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in welding positions throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift metal components, materials, and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to safely wear welding helmets, gloves, and required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to safely work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery while following established safety procedures.
- Steel toed shoes are required on the production floor.
