Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Lead (Healthcare)

Lead Advanced Practice Nurse provides clinical and operational leadership for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the organization while maintaining an active clinical practice. The role oversees day‑to‑day provider performance, professional development, and ensures high‑quality, evidence‑based care delivery aligned with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. It serves as a key liaison between APPs and executive leadership, supporting strategic initiatives, workforce planning, and clinical excellence.

There are two openings for this APRN Lead role: one supporting the Urology and Surgical Oncology teams and one dedicated to Medical Oncology.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides direct clinical care within scope of licensure and specialty practice.
  • Supervises and provides day‑to‑day oversight of APPs.
  • Approves timesheets and monitors productivity.
  • Conducts regular one‑on‑one meetings to support performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Completes annual performance evaluations and provides ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Addresses performance concerns, implements corrective action plans, and participates in disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Clinical Officer on workforce planning, staffing models, and resource allocation.
  • Ensures clinical practice aligns with evidence‑based guidelines, organizational policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to APPs and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and monitors clinical performance metrics.
  • Supports onboarding, orientation, and competency validation of new APP team members.
  • Facilitates communication between APPs, physicians, nursing leadership, and administrative teams.
  • Contributes to policy development, clinical protocols, and workflow optimization efforts.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and patient‑centered care.
  • Stays current with advances in clinical practice, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Education, Certification, Licensure, Registration
  • Master’s or doctorate prepared as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
  • Valid Arkansas license as a Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner in an adult‑focused area of specialization (e.g., Adult‑Gerontology, Family Nurse Practitioner) by an approved national certifying body (such as ANCC or AANP).
  • Current, or eligible for, a DEA license.
  • Certificate of Prescriptive Authority.
  • BLS Certified (ACLS Optional).
  • Valid Arkansas driver’s license.
Experience, Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Minimum of 5‑7 years of clinical NP experience.
  • Prior leadership, charge, preceptor, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, scope of practice requirements, and quality metrics.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and team development skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
