Summary of
Job Duties:
* This position will hire either an APRN or PA
* The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant works collaboratively with a physician and multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to outpatients. The APRN/PA is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
APRN:
* Master's Degree in Nursing - Family Medicine
* Three (3) years of nursing experience.
* Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
* APRN License
* Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
* 1 year of APRN experience in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
PA:
* Master's Degree - Physician Assistant
* 1 year of PA experience in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care or Family Medicine
* PA license
Preferred Qualifications:
APRN:
* DNP
* 4 years of nursing experience
* 4 years of APRN experience in Gerontology and/or Memory Clinic Experience
PA:
* 4 years of PA experience in a Gerontology and/or Memory Clinic Experience
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
* Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
* Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
* Work autonomously, as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
* Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
* Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
