Healthcare Nursing, RN Nurse
Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities- Provide competent health care to patients and families in the area of practice.
- Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
- Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate.
- Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and healthcare students.
- Provide leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
- Assist the Nursing Supervisor/Coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.
- Assist providers with procedures.
- Maintain PAR levels for medical supplies and medications.
- Triage incoming patient calls and messages.
- Provide patient education through nurse visits, including annual wellness visits and chronic disease education/follow‑up.
- Obtain prior authorizations for patient visits, medications, and referrals.
- Assist with team huddles.
- Schedule appointments as needed.
- Mentor and support support staff such as MA & CMA.
- Participate in process improvement committees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Diploma or GED
- Relevant work experience
