Licensed Practical Nurse II

The Licensed Practical Nurse II, (LPN), is a specifically trained member of the clinic team. The LPN supports the ongoing delivery of care, as identified by the multi-disciplinary scope of practice. This position works under supervision to assist the Physicians & RNs with patient care and procedures. The LPN will prepare patients for clinic visits and work with Physicians & RNs in the clinic to maintain a timely flow of patients.

The LPN's primary responsibility is to assist patients to rooms, triage patients, gather medical and health history, and chief complaints, and enter all information in the EMR related to the visit. This role also assists physicians/RN with tests and procedures, administering medications, laboratory procedures, vaccines, disseminating educational materials, cleaning and stocking exam rooms and supply room areas, keeping medical supply inventory, and providing direct patient care under the supervision of the RN.

The LPN will assist other clinics in the service line, when patient census is low along with other duties as assigned. This position must be able to perform and deliver nursing care according to standards as defined by UAMS, the American Nurses Association, (ANA), the AR State Board of Nursing, (ASBN), and those set forth by nursing specialty organizations. Helps develop patient's Plan of Care, (POC), per clinic standards utilizing assessment.

  • Valid LPN License
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience
