ICU Nurse, RN Nurse
Job Summary
Position: Registered Nurse, ICU/Trauma Progressive Care Unit (F4).
Schedule: Full‑time, shifts vary.
Unit: 30‑bed blended ICU and intermediate care unit focused on trauma, acute care surgery, and post‑operative patients. The role may be used to fill multiple positions and includes education for staff, dysrhythmia, advanced cardiac life support certification, and trauma nursing core certification.
- Collects and documents assessment data.
- Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard and implements POC, including medical orders and interdisciplinary approach.
- Evaluates patient progress toward desired outcomes.
- Provides effective patient/family education and discharge planning.
- Administers medication per standard, providing drug information to patients/families.
- Acts as a resource/supports others; delivers patient care using the principles of the defined nursing modality.
- Delegates care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job description and individual level of education and training.
- Contributes to a positive work environment that supports clinical education and serves as a resource for student nurses and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning, and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment, including N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate’s Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Nursing.
- Valid RN license.
- One (1) year of registered nursing experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong work ethic and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National certification.
- BSN or MSN.
- Two or more years of nursing experience.
- At least one year in an acute care setting such as a teaching hospital.
- Cardiac experience.
Commensurate with education and experience.
