A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of their training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.
The PACU Nurse provides nursing care to patients following surgery, focusing on post-anesthesia care in the immediate post‑anesthesia period and transitioning them to Phase II care or to a critical care setting for continued care. The nurse monitors post‑operative vital signs, assesses levels of consciousness, and closely observes patients for any side effects from anesthesia.
Qualifications- RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or RN in good standing, licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas.
- BSN preferred.
- Ability to apply basic knowledge and skills to meet the standard of care.
- Ability to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.
- Healthcare CPR required; some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS. Training is provided.
- Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.
This position will be authorized 72.00 hours bi‑weekly.
