The Admission/Discharge Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Nursing Care Team who collaborates, communicates, and facilitates the optimal provision of care onsite through a computerized and/or digital platform supporting daily management of care. The nurse provides professional nursing care with collaboration from the bedside nurse through two‑way audio/visual technology and performs assessments of vital signs and monitoring data through specialized software.
Responsibilities- Deliver professional direct patient nursing care to a diverse patient population and act as a subject‑matter expert in the specialty.
- Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Co‑coach and mentor department staff in clinical and professional practice.
- Model compassionate communication with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team.
- Assume leadership responsibilities with high‑level contributions at the bedside, unit, service line, and across the institution.
- Lead unit and shared governance activities and serve as charge nurse as needed.
- Assess unit needs related to practice and improvement opportunities.
- Act as a clinical resource for both unit and hospital staff.
- Coordinate unit and hospital‑wide education in partnership with management.
- Focus on patient/customer safety and deliver personalized service using Baptist Health Service Standards.
- Intentionally round with patients/customers to ensure their needs are met.
- Involve patients (customers) in shift/handoff reports by enabling their participation in their plan of care.
- Improve nurse satisfaction by serving as a role model and mentor, facilitating teamwork with RNs, non‑licensed, and interprofessional staff.
- Two (2) years of acute care RN experience.
- Comfortable using advanced technology and two‑way audio/visual platforms.
- Unencumbered RN license.
- Licensed staff nurse recognized as an advanced clinician.
- Authorized hours may vary: 48.00 or 72.00 hours per bi‑weekly period.
