LPN Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic

Licensed Practical Nurse II (LPN II) – licensed practical nurse who supports the ongoing delivery of care as identified by the multi‑disciplinary scope of practice in the clinic. Works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and collaborates with patients, families, and providers to implement individualized health plans.

• Triages, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care and patient education either by telephone or within the UAMS Clinic.
• Delivers nursing care according to standards defined by UAMS, ANA, ASBN, and specialty organizations.
• Helps develop patients’ Plan of Care (POC) using assessment data.
• Practices compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and uniqueness of every patient without restrictions or prejudice.
• Demonstrates commitment to patients and families by advocating to preserve patient rights while providing safe, competent care.
• Participates in performance improvement, evidence‑based practice/research processes.
• Promotes an environment conducive to a positive educational experience for students and staff.
• Provides effective patient and family education.
• Implements POC using an interdisciplinary, patient and family centered approach.
• Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.
• Reports variances in care/systems/processes through appropriate means.
• Acts as a resource/support to others.

• High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• One (1) year LPN experience (new graduates considered).
• Current and valid Arkansas Practical Nurse License.
