Admission/Discharge Registered Nurse (RN) – Role Summary
Summary:
The Admission/Discharge Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Nursing Care Team and is responsible for collaboration, communication and facilitation of optimal provision of care onsite through a computerized and/or digital platform supporting daily management of care. The RN provides professional nursing care with collaboration from the bedside nurse through two-way audio/visual technology, performs assessments of vital signs and monitoring data through specialized software, and maintains medical records.
The RN serves as a clinical resource, coaches and mentors staff, models compassionate communication with physicians and interprofessional teams, and assumes leadership responsibilities at the bedside, unit, service line, and across the institution. Responsibilities may include leading unit and shared governance activities, serving as charge nurse as needed, assessing unit needs for practice improvement opportunities, coordinating unit and hospital-wide education, and focusing on patient/customer safety.
- Two years of acute care experience as an RN
- Comfortable using advanced technology
- Unencumbered RN license
Work hours:
72.00 hours bi-weekly.
