Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians. LPNs are responsible for assessing patient needs, assisting in care planning, and implementing various aspects of patient treatment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of Licensed Practical Nurses and other staff members.
- Ensure proper administration of medications and treatments as per physician orders.
- Assist in patient assessments and documentation.
- Monitor and evaluate care outcomes, adjusting plans as needed.
- Provide support and guidance to LPNs in complex cases or when clinical judgment is needed.
- Coordinate with physicians and RNs to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of LPN duties, patient care protocols, and healthcare regulations.
- Leadership and supervision skills to guide and mentor nursing teams.
- Ability to assess patient conditions, administer treatments, and adjust care as needed.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical documentation systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited LPN program.
- Current LPN licensure in Arkansas.
- Minimum of three years of practical nursing experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
