Summary:
Coordinated and facilitates transition of the trauma patient from inpatient status into the outpatient setting for follow-up. Functions in the role of case manager, monitoring patient progress via utilization review procedures to identify patient management problems which contribute to increased morbidity and mortality or a prolonged length of stay.
Other Information:
RN with current AR license. MSN preferred. Five years experience in the care of trauma patients. Advanced skills in critical care nursing accompanied by advanced certifications (such as CCRN, CEN, TNCC, ATLS, ACLS). Excellent skills in communications and interpersonal relationships with demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with all level of medical personnel within the institution and community. Demonstrated ability to form and maintain therapeutic relationship with patients and their families.
Good critical thinking skills, computer literacy, familiarity with research methodology. Self directed, able to work with little supervision. Flexibility in schedule, designed to meet job requirements. Some travel may be necessary.
DESIRED:
- Previous experience in an expanded role such as Trauma Coordinator. Masters degree in nursing. Two years experience in management, preferably in a trauma program setting.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
