Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays required as needed
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Level III–IV NICU setting, managing a complex patient population including micro-premies (23 weeks), VLBW infants, chronic lung disease, surgical cases (NEC perforation, diaphragmatic hernia, spina bifida, cleft lip/palate, PDA ligations), and transfers from surrounding Level II NNICUs
- Operate and monitor advanced equipment including GE ventilators, Servo, HFOV, Jet Vent, IMV, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, Kangaroo Care, Omni beds, and Giraffe isolettes
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:1–3/4 based on acuity, with ancillary support from PCTs and collaboration with a dedicated multidisciplinary team including Advanced Practice providers, Respiratory Therapy, and Anesthesia
- Float within the ICU cluster (PICU and Burn ICU) as required; travelers are first to float
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication system
- Participate in 2–3 days of facility orientation and complete required specialty testing prior to independent practice
- Active Arkansas RN license or valid Compact RN license
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III–IV NICU (Level 4 experience required and must be clearly documented)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR (must be clearly noted on submission)
- Must test negative for nicotine
- Level 1 or Level 2 NICU experience will not be considered
- NCC Neonatal ICU RN (RNC-NIC) certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing assignment experience
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication management system
- Work within a large, well-resourced NICU featuring 104 beds, 24/7 Neonatologist coverage, a dedicated multidisciplinary team, and a family-centered care model with robust support programs
- No on-call requirements and no self-scheduling burden, with scheduling managed by unit leadership
