Job TitleRegistered Nurse – NICU
LocationLittle Rock, AR | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level IV)
Schedule / Job TypeContract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays required as needed
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to a high-acuity neonatal patient population including micro-premies (23 weeks), VLBW infants, chronic lung disease, NEC perforation, diaphragmatic hernia, spina bifida, and post-surgical patients
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3/4 based on acuity in a 104-bed Level IV NICU environment
- Operate and monitor advanced equipment including GE ventilators, Servo, HFOV, Jet Vent, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, IMV, Omni beds, and Giraffe isolettes
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication system
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including 24/7 Neonatologists, Respiratory Therapy, Anesthesia, and Advanced Practice providers
- Float within the ICU cluster (PICU and Burn ICU) as required; travelers are first to float
- Active Arkansas RN license or valid Compact RN license required prior to offer
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU;
Level I or Level II experience will not be considered - EPIC EMR experience is required
- Must pass a facility fit test (no facial hair permitted unless for religious beliefs)
- Must test negative for nicotine
- Candidates should expect 2–3 days of orientation and specialty testing upon start
- NCC Neonatal ICU RN (RNC-NIC) certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing assignment experience preferred
- Experience with ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, and advanced neonatal ventilator management
- Familiarity with Kangaroo Care practices and family-centered care models
- Work within a large, well-resourced Level IV NICU supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team, 24/7 Neonatologist coverage, and robust ancillary support including Respiratory Therapy and Anesthesia
