American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a 12-hour night shift assignment at a Level III-IV Level 1 trauma teaching hospital, requiring 3 years of Level III-IV NNICU experience and EPIC proficiency.
Details- 12H Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours/week
- 104-bed NICU organized into 8-bed pods
- Patient ratios of 1:1-3/4 based on acuity
- Ancillary support includes 1-2 PCTs per shift and on-site lab/tech services
- Advanced Practice providers present on the unit
- Floating required within the ICU cluster (NICU, PICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, IMU), travelers float first
- EMR is EPIC; medication system is Pyxis
- Scheduling handled by manager/scheduler, no self-scheduling
- No on-call requirements
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Equipment includes GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), and IMV
- Respiratory Therapy manages ventilators;
Anesthesia support available
- Active AR or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NNICU required
- NCC Neonatal ICU RN certification preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Must pass a fit test (no facial hair unless for religious beliefs)
- Must test negative for nicotine
- Care for a complex NICU population including 23-week micro-premies, VLBW infants, chronic lung disease, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro conditions, cleft lip/palate/mandible, PDA ligations, and body cooling cases
- Average patient length of stay is approximately 40 days
- Facility is a 359-bed, Level 1 trauma teaching hospital
- 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing required upon start
- ACH dress code must be followed
- 24/7 Neonatologist coverage and dedicated multidisciplinary care team
- Family-centered amenities include 24/7 family camera access, rooming-in prior to discharge, and dedicated pumping areas for mothers
- Prior travel assignment experience is not required
- Local candidates accepted
