Overview

Purpose:

Ensure technical support and general supervision of the product to ensure the best possible quality. Ensure that the product complies with Elopak Inc.'s standards in order to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily direction, prioritization, and support to Quality Inspectors across all assigned shifts.
  • Ensure Inspectors follow SQF Level 2, HACCP, GMP, and documentation requirements consistently.
  • Review Inspectors’ findings, inspection reports, and completed checks to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Coach Inspectors on proper inspection techniques, decision‑making, and root-cause identification.
  • Train new Quality Inspectors and reinforce ongoing competency for existing team members.
  • Serve as the escalation point for Inspectors when quality, safety, or compliance decisions are unclear.
  • Communicate with the Quality Inspector from the previous and next shifts to review priorities, quality issues, and follow-up actions.
  • Provide ongoing updates to the Plant Manager regarding overall product quality, customer complaints, and non‑conformities.
  • Conduct routine inspection tours of assigned production areas to ensure products meet quality, food safety, and customer specifications.
  • Verify order specifications using press/sealer inspection reports (raw materials, plates, ink, silicone).
  • Use Cutting Records to confirm product dimensions and compliance.
  • Check cartons against the cutting register when equipment jams or rejects occur.
  • Advise operators on quality standards, compliance issues, and corrective actions.
  • Verify with the help of the press/sealer inspection report that the order specifications are met (raw materials, plates, ink, silicone).
  • Use Cutting Records to Verify Product Size.
  • Advise operators regarding the quality and compliance of current products.
  • Complete non-compliance (quarantine) reports.
  • Decide when necessary to quarantine certain non-compliant products.
  • Approve all the specifications of the orders (color) for new orders (red shirts) and initialize AQ4.
  • Authorize and initialize production startup after size changes or key adjustments.
  • Perform laboratory tests (cut register, friction, ink, paper construction, penetration, microbiology, etc.).
  • Collect and prepare product samples for customer shipments, internal testing, or customer service review.
  • Perform PCI tests monthly and complete positive reminders as required.
  • Analyze quality or process issues and actively participate in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Promote and uphold ISO, FDA, HACCP, and SQF requirements in all daily activities.
  • Follow all HACCP and SQF procedures to maintain food safety and product integrity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality and production operations.
  • Serve as a role model for safe, compliant, and high‑quality production practices.
