Position: Research Assistant I

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Conduct research and policy analysis using various source materials, including journals and legislation
  • Perform literature reviews, background research, and compile data to support policy work
  • Assist in the development and editing of grant proposals and related materials
  • Identify and track potential funding opportunities to advance organizational objectives
  • Prepare and format materials for policy presentations and stakeholder meetings
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, Public Policy, Health Administration, Finance/Economics, or related field plus one (1) year of experience in research, policy analysis, or editing/writing; or Master’s degree plus one (1) year of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of English grammar, syntax, and proficiency in written and spoken communication
  • General knowledge of style and format requirements used in grant applications and medical journals
  • Basic understanding of journal publication processes and sources of grant funding
  • Intermediate knowledge of organizational factors that promote readability and present numerical data effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience in grant writing for federal and foundation sources
  • Mastery of word processing and desktop publishing software
  • Familiarity with the federal funding environment and grant review processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
