Open-Rank Faculty Position (Neuroimaging, Clinical Trials) – National Center for Opioid and Addiction Research (NCOAR), UAMS / Arkansas Children's Research Institute
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children's Research Institute (ACRI) are recruiting faculty to join the National Center for Opioid and Addiction Research (NCOAR), a newly launched, state-funded national research center supported by a $75 million investment to advance the research on opioid and substance misuse related topics specific to infants, children, adolescents, and families.
This position is ideal for an MD, DO, DNP, PhD or similar with an active clinical trials research program and/or expertise in neuroimaging (MRI, fMRI) or neurophysiology (EEG) research applied to substance use and addiction. Candidates whose work examines neurobiological mechanisms of opioid/substance use disorder, evaluates pharmacological or behavioral interventions through clinical trial designs, or leverages brain-based biomarkers to inform treatment in pediatric and family populations are especially encouraged to apply.
Faculty will receive competitive start-up support and be housed in a new 65,000 sq ft research facility opening spring 2027. Appointments are open at all career stages, with priority given to mid- to senior-level career with a documented history of securing federal research funding.
