Restaurant Server

Overview

Job Title: Server

Shift: 2nd Shift, 2-10PM

Reports to: Restaurant Manager

The Server will take orders and serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly, efficient manner while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Server must ensure that the customers feel welcome, comfortable, and well attended to at all times.

• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Present menus to customers, inform them of daily specials, and suggest appetizers.
• Explain how various menu items are prepared, answer customer questions.
• Take orders from patrons for food or beverages.
• Enter food and drink orders into computer system for transmission to kitchen staff.
• Double check food for accuracy and temperature before serving to customer.
• Serve food and drinks to customers in a timely manner.
• Check with customers periodically during to refill drinks, inquire about satisfaction, and take actions to correct problems.
• Pre-bus tables.
• Offer dessert to customers during lunch/dinner time.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables/counter.
• Prepare checks and present to customers.
• Collect payment from customer and make change in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Clean tables/counter after patrons have finished dining.
• Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee/tea.
• Stock service area with supplies such as condiments, silverware, etc.
• Fill salt, pepper, condiments, napkin containers, etc.
• Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe.
• Perform side duties as required and other duties as requested.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.

• Serv Safe Certification.
• Friendly and customer-focused.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate in fluent English.
• Physical ability to carry out the functions of the job description.
• Ability to responsibly handle cash transactions.
• Ability to consolidate and coordinate needs for all tables.
• Ability to carry food and beverages.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.
• Previous server experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Black non-slip shoes (non-slip must be noted on the shoe).
• Socks worn.
• Clean denim pants.
• Clean OMG t-shirt.
• Hair clean, neat, and secure.
• Nametag worn.
• Deodorant worn and a high level of personal hygiene maintained.
