Member Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provides member service and maintains the checkout area; processes member purchases and assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types. Provides guidance and support to members regarding self-service technology.
• Follows company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps; handles merchandise properly and reports unsafe situations to facility management.
• Maintains entrance areas: acknowledges members, verifies membership cards, identifies member needs, assists with purchasing decisions, locates merchandise, zones the area, arranges and organizes merchandise, assists with transporting items, and maintains a safe shopping environment.
• Maintains exit areas: reviews member receipts, acknowledges the member, and identifies member needs; assists with securing and safeguarding Sam's Club assets and property by observing and communicating potential criminal activity according to company policies and procedures. Maintains paperwork, logs, and other required documentation; executes emergency response procedures; ensures compliance with security and safety practices.
• Assist with the training of Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures; teach new technology and tool functionality; deliver new programs rollout training; provide continuous learning and process improvement opportunities.
• Ensure area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling returns; zone the area; arrange and organize merchandise; identify shrink and damages.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and apply these in executing business processes and practices.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners; identify priorities and deadlines; carry out tasks; communicate progress and information; address opportunities for improvement; and adapt to change and feedback.

• Retail experience including operating front end equipment (for example, cash register)
• Experience working with mobile retail applications

The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.00. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in specific circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location.
