AD/Sr. AD, PCP/Endo – Role Overview
The AD/Sr. AD, PCP/Endo is responsible for the management of the assigned specialists and for business development with a select group of external experts and accounts. The incumbent will direct their specialists in developing and implementing district business plans for maximizing net sales of BIPI and co-promoted diabetes products in alignment with BIPI commercial leadership and with BIPI policies and directives.
The role ensures consistent application of policies to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Develops, enhances, and increases district performance of BIPI’s diabetes portfolio to meet or exceed annual net sales.
- Implements a District sales strategy (District business plan) to be executed through the specialists.
- Exercises fiscal control on allocated operating budgets.
- Recruits and selects top talent from a diverse candidate pool to fill allocated positions.
- Proactively develops talent pools for specialists and leaders.
- Administers salary and reward programs and retains talent with strong performance.
- Applies coaching styles to direct reports to motivate high performance and accountability.
- Provides regular, candid feedback during field days and remote coaching, documented in Coaching for Excellence and MAG plans.
- Ensures direct reports have actionable Development Plans for growth in responsibilities.
- Identifies performance challenges early and creates plans to address gaps.
- Guides disciplinary actions in partnership with HR, up to termination when necessary.
- Analyzes district performance and collaborates in cross-functional and regional meetings to develop tactical plans.
- Maintains high district productivity and facilitates cross-district communications and projects.
- Plans and executes district meetings to implement objectives and strategies.
- Serves as the customer channel expert for the district and models sales excellence to direct reports.
- Develops relationships with external experts and accounts to foster company business.
- Responds to customer needs promptly and professionally.
- Develops a highly integrated district business plan and contributes to zone plans.
- Builds positive relationships with internal customers, key accounts, and co-promotion partners to meet sales goals.
- Collaborates with customer-facing roles to meet needs and achieve net sales objectives.
- Demonstrates collaboration as customers evolve to account-based ownership.
- Communicates candidly with supervisors and direct reports.
Candidate will be hired at the level commensurate with experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum four (4) years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience required.
- Requires at least one of the following: two (2) years of district/manager experience with geography preference, or completion of BI leadership development stages, or other equivalent leadership experience.
- History of successful performance including the last two performance reviews.
- Demonstrates acceptable TBM competencies and AAI behaviors.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
- Expertise in pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance environment; prior management experience in pharma is required.
- Eligible and authorized under all U.S. Export Laws.
- Ability to travel (may include overnight travel).
- Residence in territory geography or willingness to relocate.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; ability to drive company- or rented-vehicle.
