NOVATAE RISK GROUP is a national wholesale brokerage for hard-to-place property and casualty insurance coverages. We are seeking multiple experienced Commercial Wholesale Brokers to add to our growing team. We are searching for candidate(s) who have demonstrated success in the Wholesale or MGA Industry.
SummaryThe Commercial Wholesale Broker at Novatae Risk Group is a vital role within our Wholesale Insurance division, responsible for cultivating and managing client relationships, identifying insurance needs, and driving business growth by connecting clients with suitable insurance solutions. This position plays a critical role in expanding the client portfolio and contributing to the success of the agency.

Primary Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail insurance agents and brokers to generate a consistent pipeline of new Commercial &C opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with carrier partners, and key industry stakeholders to drive new business opportunities and long-term growth.
- Prospect for new retail relationships and expand production within existing agency relationships through regular outreach, agency visits, and strategic account development.
- Own and actively manage a new business pipeline with clear production and revenue-growth objectives.
- Retain and grow an existing book of business by identifying renewal opportunities, revenue at risk, and opportunities to expand retailer relationships.
- Serve as a visible and trusted market representative by conducting regular agency visits, maintaining consistent outreach, and fostering productive partnerships throughout the marketplace.
- Actively participate in industry conferences, association meetings, networking events, educational forums, and company-sponsored functions to enhance market visibility, strengthen relationships, and identify business opportunities.
- Travel regularly to meet with agents, carrier partners, prospects, and industry contacts, with travel requirements varying based on territory needs, agency development plans, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to expand market presence, increase submission flow, and support the achievement of production and profitability goals.
- Stay informed about market trends, carrier offerings, and competitive products.
- Maintain high underwriting standards and support the development of underwriting procedures and operational processes.
- Maintain ownership of accounts throughout the placement process, ensuring submissions, quotes, bind requests, documentation, and follow-up are handled accurately and promptly.
- Effectively utilize assigned account management and support resources while maintaining accountability for client service and transaction execution.
- Communicate proactively with retail partners regarding account status, market feedback, challenges, and recommended solutions.
Work Experience:
- 5+ years of Commercial P&C insurance experience, with demonstrated experience in wholesale brokerage, E&S, or MGA environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop retail agency relationships, generate new business, and grow and retain a commercial insurance book.
- Strong technical knowledge of P&C coverages, exposures, policy forms, underwriting considerations, and E&S market practices.
- Established knowledge of commercial carrier/MGA markets and the ability to develop effective placement strategies for complex or difficult-to-place risks.
- Strong sales, negotiation, relationship-management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to independently manage a production pipeline, prioritize opportunities, and consistently execute against revenue and growth objectives.
- Strong written communication and account-presentation skills, including the ability to clearly articulate risk characteristics and negotiate effectively with underwriting partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with account management, underwriting, operations, and leadership teams while maintaining individual accountability for results.
