Job Duties:
The Research Program Manager reports to the Director of the Division of Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Policy and supports the Division Director and faculty in the design, implementation, evaluation, presentation, and publication of research and evaluation projects.
This position manages the Division’s research portfolio, coordinates project activities, monitors regulatory compliance, supports grant and manuscript development, oversees project budgets and timelines, and supervises research personnel. The Research Program Manager works independently within established guidelines, with occasional direct supervision, and collaborates regularly with UAMS departments, external universities, research organizations, government agencies, clinical and research partners, and the public.
Some travel may be required, approximately 5%–10%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or social science field, business administration or other research discipline with 5 years in research support or research project coordination experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project coordination abilities.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive reports summarizing project findings.
- Knowledge of human-subjects research requirements and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes.
- Knowledge of research planning, methods, analysis techniques, and procedures.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
