US Department of Defense - - Responsibilities:
Verify personnel granted access to classified information have the requisite level of security clearance and approval;
Reviews and maintains existing Personnel Security Programs to ensure relevancy, currency and thoroughness in meeting existing or evolving security mission requirements;
Prepares security bulletins, provides training and other information and awareness materials related to security, security systems and procedures;
Recommends and initiates programs to implement security mission goals or improve or correct deficiencies to meet security mission goals and requirements;
Determines the fitness and suitability of applicants, contractors, volunteers and employees for initial and continuing employment retention;
Ensures that classified defense information is safeguarded throughout the District
