Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Reviews service requests and assigns them to the appropriate employee for completion.

• Complete daily service requests
• Review the returned service request completion report to ensure all assigned service requests have been completed satisfactorily and on time.
• Establish and maintain an inventory of parts, materials, and supplies, determining which items will be stocked and the appropriate amounts, and which items will be purchased on an as‑needed basis.
• Record work performed on resident service requests accurately and in detail.
• Certify the work performed by contractors is completed prior to payment being issued.
• Perform maintenance and repairs in areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, and other building repairs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

• Be punctual and present at work when scheduled.
• Be flexible with the work schedule, including availability to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective communication with residents, prospects, employees, peers, vendors, owners, etc.

Computer software experience, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and One Site.

Basic understanding of Federal, State, and local Fair Housing laws.

• General Maintenance – 2 years

• High school or equivalent

Constant sitting, walking, climbing, and reaching.

Regular lifting and carrying of up to 80 pounds and, with assistance, up to 200 pounds.
