Diesel TechnicianJob Type: Full time;
Remote
- Perform mobile diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy‑duty trucks and trailers at customer locations, roadside, and job sites
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, braking systems, steering, suspension, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair air systems, hydraulic systems, and emission control systems (aftertreatment/DEF)
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PMs) to ensure vehicle safety and DOT compliance
- Respond to roadside breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
- Utilize diagnostic software, scan tools, and OEM technical manuals to accurately identify issues
- Complete work orders by documenting repairs performed, parts used, labor hours, and inspection findings using mobile service software
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding diagnoses, recommended repairs, timelines, and next steps
- Maintain service truck inventory, tools, and equipment in safe and working condition
- Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies
- Assist with DOT inspections and compliance‑related repairs
- Test‑drive vehicles when applicable to verify repairs and performance
- Coordinate with dispatch, service managers, and parts departments to ensure efficient job completion
- Provide professional, courteous customer service in the field
- Stay current on industry standards, OEM updates, and emerging diagnostic technologies
- 5+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician, preferably in a mobile or field service environment
- Strong bumper‑to‑bumper knowledge of heavy‑duty truck and trailer repair
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, HVAC, transmissions, and drive trains
- Solid understanding of truck electronics and diagnostic systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and customer‑facing professionalism
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
