Job Title:
Field Service Mechanic
The field service mechanic will be responsible for driving from site to site providing maintenance and repair services for construction equipment used in utility operations. This includes both shop-based and field-based equipment such as passenger trucks, directional drills, cable plows, and excavators. The candidate will respond to field service needs using a company-provided service truck and will perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs as needed.
Responsibilities- Drive to various sites to provide maintenance and repair services for construction equipment.
- Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and necessary repairs on equipment including passenger trucks, directional drills, cable plows, and excavators.
- Utilize a company-provided service truck for all field service activities.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand equipment specifications and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- 5+ years of experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems (some experience can be substituted with schooling).
- Proficiency in diesel troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong skills in diagnosing electrical and hydraulic issues.
- Must have a valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must provide own basic set of tools.
Employees enjoy the use of a company vehicle, a monthly tool allowance of $200, and a credit card for lodging with a $55/day per diem for meals when overnight stays are expected. The company offers vacation/PTO, paid holidays, and weekly pay.
Work EnvironmentThis role involves traveling from site to site as needed for equipment repairs and maintenance. The mechanic will work primarily out of their truck, providing a dynamic and mobile work environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Little Rock, AR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62,400.00 - $79,040.00/yr.
