Position: Service Technician / Reefer Mechanic

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Refrigeration Service Diesel Technician at our MHC Carrier location in Little Rock, Arkansas. The role of the Refrigeration Service Diesel Technician is responsible performs all functions of a fully qualified transport refrigeration mechanic under minimal supervision.

  • Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on transport refrigeration equipment and related components with minimum supervision.
  • Performs trouble shooting on major problems.
  • Works with and helps train apprentice technicians.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
  • Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
  • Maintains favorable relations with customers.
  • Masters the techniques needed to use a laptop computer to test microprocessors.
  • Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Minimum three years hands‑on experience and on‑the‑job training in a related mechanical field.
  • Basic understanding of how to read a wiring diagram/schematic
  • Minimum one year of diesel engine experience
  • Education - Graduate of vocational course or experience and training equivalent.
  • 608 Certification preferred.
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
