Electrical Technician
This position is responsible for performing routine electrical repairs to existing facilities and equipment in the Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Division.
Examples of Work
- Replace existing receptacles and lights.
- Perform general wiring for bridges and buildings.
- Perform work on air conditioning, refrigeration, laboratory equipment, and outdoor lighting.
- Operate bucket truck and perform related electrical work.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment.
- Perform work on traffic signals as directed.
Minimum Requirements
Education and experience:
The educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, and to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
Licenses, registrations and certifications:
Journeyman electrician license. Valid driver's license.
This position does not require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge or a bachelor's degree or higher in the field; thus, this position is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship.
