Recreation Facility Supervisor

To supervise the day-to-day operations of a community center in the Department of Parks and Recreation; ensures the center is operated in compliance with all applicable guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.

This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree or two (2) years of college coursework in Parks and Recreation Management, Recreation Administration, Parks Administration, Leisure Sciences, Physical Education, or a related area, two (2) years of experience in directing athletic or recreational programs, or a related area, and one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Additional Requirements:

• Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
• Must possess Standard First Aid and Community CPR certifications, or other certifications which incorporate Standard First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR, within six (6) months of employment, and maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position.
• Must be available to work outside normal working hours including shift assignments, nights, and weekends.

Insurance: CIGNA Health Plans (Base Plan, Buy‑up 1 Plan, Buy‑up 2 Plan, High Deductible Plan) with varying deductible and copay structures. Delta Dental Insurance (Base Plan and High Plan). Vision (VSP) with employee and family coverage options. Other provided insurance includes Life Insurance at 2x or 3x salary, accidental death & dismemberment, and long‑term disability.

Retirement:
Pension for all full‑time, non‑uniform employees under the 2014 Defined Benefit Plan with mandatory contributions of 4.5% for the employee and 9% for the employer.

Other Compensation:
Longevity Pay at $4 per month for years 1‑5 and $6 per month thereafter.

Leave: PTO accrues according to years of service (up to 256 hours). Short‑term disability and funeral leave policies apply as per city guidelines.
