Job Overview

Google – Production Network Engineer (Little Rock, USA). Compensation: $24 per hour. Full‑time salary range: $114,000–$173,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits.

Google’s Community Engineering team operates a global network that supports millions of users. As a Production Network Engineer, you will have an immediate impact on the design and operation of the network, ensuring reliability, performance, and security. You will work on the interface between the data center and user traffic, collaborating across teams to build and maintain the core network infrastructure.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IP networking in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Hands‑on experience with community routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, and MPLS.
• Programming experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Go, or Python.
• Familiarity with major networking vendors (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Nokia, etc.).

• 3+ years working on provider‑grade or hyperscale networks in engineering or design roles.
• Driven to grow networking products, technologies, software, and protocols.
• Experience with large‑scale carrier‑grade routers and switches.
• Strong coding and automation skills for debugging and optimizing code.
• Interest in designing, reading, and troubleshooting large‑scale distributed systems.
• Systematic problem‑solving approach, strong verbal communication, and a sense of accountability.

• Design, validate, deploy, operate, and optimize network infrastructure throughout its lifecycle.
• Scale architecture sustainably through automation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, resolve issues, and proactively propose enhancements.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for internal application teams, designing network infrastructure that meets their needs.
• Lead the engineering design, specification, and solution development for Google’s production network infrastructure.
