The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the bank’s core integration and API infrastructure. This role develops critical system integrations, supports digital banking platforms, and enables internal development capabilities to reduce reliance on third-party vendors. This position operates within a controlled SDLC and must adhere to strict change management, segregation of duties, and documentation standards required in a regulated banking environment.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Design and develop APIs for internal systems and third-party integrations
- Build and maintain integration architecture supporting digital banking and core platforms
- Support replacement of legacy integration frameworks with scalable solutions
- Participate in full SDLC lifecycle including development, testing, and deployment
- Ensure all code is reviewed, approved, and documented prior to release
- Collaborate with ETL/BI team to integrate data pipelines and reporting systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to integrations and APIs
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and system architecture diagrams

Skills and Qualifications- 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong experience with API development (REST/SOAP)
- Proficiency in modern programming languages and database design
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of secure coding practices and regulated environments
- Cloud experience (AWS/Azure), Docker, or Kubernetes
- Banking or fintech development experience
- Experience with digital banking platforms (Q2 strongly preferred)
- Experience replacing legacy integration systems
- While performing the duties of this job this individual is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, sit, talk, hear, use their hands and fingers (manual dexterity), use a telephone, and occasionally lift and /or move up to 15 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The ability to solve problems, make decisions, supervise others, interpret data, organize information, written and oral communication and read/write.
