Maintenance Mechanic​/Shopkeeper

Overview

The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time Mechanic/Shopkeeper (40hrs/wk.).

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repair of 12 vehicles ranging from small vans to box trucks.
• Operate vehicle lift and tire mount/balance equipment; forklift driving experience is preferred.
• Keep parts and supplies stocked and organized, including spare floor and ceiling tiles and housekeeping supplies.
• Accept deliveries and unload pallets from vendors.
• Travel to branch libraries to assist with other maintenance activities; occasional pressure washing.
• Other duties as assigned; lift up to 50 lbs., push, pull, lift, and squat.

• 40 hours per week, full-time.
• Valid AR driver’s license and good driving record.
• Experience with vehicle lift and tire mount/balance equipment required.
• Forklift driving experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., push, pull, lift, and squat.
• Some travel to branch libraries and other maintenance activities as needed.

Pay starts at $16.11 per hour and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company-paid retirement, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave, and holiday pay.
