Job Summary

The Warehouse Order Filling worker receives, reviews customer orders, utilizes the order processing system to pick products from designated locations, ensures accurate product selection, assembles and organizes items, verifies presence and condition, packs items securely and efficiently in containers and on pallets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and review customer orders.
  • Utilize the order processing system to manage orders.
  • Pick products from designated locations based on order requirements.
  • Ensure accurate product selection, including part numbers, sizes, and quantities.
  • Assemble and organize selected items in designated order fulfillment area.
  • Verify all items are present and in good condition.
  • Prepare orders for shipping by packing items securely and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper labeling and documentation on packed orders.
  • Determine the priority of orders.
  • Push and pull pallets of merchandise using pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Clean and organize assigned work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Basic knowledge and ability to use a computer.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work

Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration; exposure to high, precarious places; occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; noise level usually loud. Employees are required to wear safety appropriate clothing in the warehouse, including close‑toed shoes. Ear plugs or other devices that interfere with hearing are not permitted.
