Position Summary

The primary function of this position is to coordinate warehouse employees, administer policies and procedures related to shipping and receiving inventory in a safe warehouse setting, and assist in loading trucks. The Operations Manager supports purchasing and sales by organizing stock to maximize space and picking orders accurately and timely.

Essential Functions
  • Supervise a crew of 6–10 warehouse employees
  • Select, develop, and motivate assigned warehouse personnel
  • Encourage teamwork to ensure set productivity targets are met
  • Conduct a daily safety walk‑through to ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and safe at all times
  • Enforce company policies of conduct and safety, and initiate disciplinary action as needed
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and quarterly driver safety meetings
  • Maintain inventory accuracy; conduct daily cycle counts to keep accurate inventory counts and percentages
  • Identify causes of product losses and take corrective action
  • Implement and maintain a bin location system to aid in storage and picking of goods
  • Assist warehouse employees in loading and unloading trucks; may include staging night‑time truck loads
  • Control costs through personnel productivity, efficient storage space utilization, and proper material protection
  • Properly use docks, warehouse layout, and truck loading patterns to minimize loading time
  • Maintain planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure they run properly and meet OSHA and Federal DOT safety standards
  • Manage People Net computer system in company trucks to monitor driver’s hours of service, ensuring compliance with Federal DOT regulations
  • Strategic planning of material transportation requirements—organize delivery routes and determine resource placement to achieve efficient, profitable delivery while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
