Position starts with weekly pay between $800 and $850.

Position Summary

The Grocery Manager will manage the daily operations of the assigned department. This position is accountable for the profit and loss (P&L) for the department and must use leadership and merchandising skills to manage product levels and make sound business decisions. The Grocery Manager ensures that all customers receive top quality products and the best customer service.

Requirements
  • Education/

    Experience:

    High School Diploma or GED and 2-4 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with customers and employees.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions given verbally, in writing, or with diagrams.
Management Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales and gross profit goals for the department.
  • Maintain and control supply and payroll expenses, inventory, and waste.
  • Follow correct accounting procedures: invoices, transfers, inventories, etc.
  • Order sufficient quantities of product and set correct pricing.
  • Ensure product quality and freshness with proper rotation.
  • Direct stocking, display, and rotation of products to provide appealing presentation.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and Grocery Specialist on merchandising, planning, scheduling, sales trends, and potential improvements.
  • Maintain a sanitary department, including sales floor, cases/coolers, and back room area.
  • Ensure employees follow company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee proper and preventative maintenance of all department equipment.
  • Obey all safety standards.
  • Cooperate with other departments on inter‑departmental or store‑wide sales promotions.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise 4-8 employees in the Grocery Food Department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
