Job Overview

We're looking for a technically sharp, field-tested Project Manager to take full ownership of commercial and government construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. We don't just hire project managers — we invest in them. Our leadership team mentors from within, promotes based on performance, and genuinely treats your career goals as our own. When you join Sterling, you're not filling a seat — you're building something that lasts.

Include (but are not limited to)
  • Full project lifecycle management — preconstruction planning through final closeout
  • Daily oversight of on-site operations, subcontractor coordination, and job site safety
  • Development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, billing, and cost controls
  • Contract compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory adherence (including prevailing wage requirements where applicable)
  • Submittal reviews, RFI management, and change order processing
  • Regular client, architect, and engineer communication and progress reporting
  • Jobsite meetings and field leadership with a focus on execution and accountability
  • Procurement process alignment and value engineering support
  • Out-of-state project travel as required
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager and/or Superintendent role in commercial construction
  • Proven ability to manage ground-up builds, major renovations, and large MEP project scopes
  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, project lifecycle, and contract management
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts with confidence
  • Experience managing subcontractors and leading field teams effectively
  • Proficiency in project management software and scheduling tools
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills — you keep everyone informed and aligned
  • A genuine drive for professional growth and leadership development
  • Willingness to travel for out-of-state project assignments
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred — not required
