Overview
What We Are Looking For We re looking for an experienced Applications Engineering Technician to work with the Lead Applications Engineer and other technicians as part of our 3D printing Applications Development Team at our Colorado Springs location. The role includes operating and maintaining 3D printers, preparing files, materials and machines for printing, cleaning/post processing parts and material handling. As an applications technician, you will become an expert in polymer 3D printing and assist with 3D printing customers parts and testing new materials.

Onsite
This role has an onsite work schedule requiring the person to be in the onsite location 5 days a week.
This role will be onsite at our Colorado Springs location until August 2026, after which we will transition to our Littleton, CO location. Must be able willing to start at Colorado Springs then Transition to work in Littleton.
- Prepare 3D files (STL files) for printing by slicing files using Simplify3D slicing software
- Operate EXT Titan 3D printers by preparing the machines for printing, starting prints, monitoring prints and removing parts once printing is finished
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Titan 3D printers
- Prepare plastic pellet and filament materials for printing, including proper drying procedures and loading into the printer
- Inventory management of materials and consumables for printing
- Post processing of 3D printed parts, including manual support removal, sanding and coating processes
- Perform Quality Control checks on 3D printed parts, including operating laser scanner
- Maintain thorough documentation of printing projects and processes
- Packaging and shipping parts to customers
- Keep Service Bureau shop area clean and organized
Required Educational Background & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Intermediate level expertise (minimum 2 years) in FDM 3D printing or similar machine operation experience (A combination of school and hands-on experience.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain and create detailed documentation with strong organizational skills
- Manual dexterity with proficiency in operating hand tools and power tools
- Valid US driver's license
Preferred Educational Background & Experience
- Associate Degree
- Experience in 3D modeling or CAD software
- Familiarity with 3D printing slicing software (Simplify3D or similar platforms)
- Experience with CNC equipment
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime, weekend, and evening work may be required under special circumstances. The work environment includes both warehouse/shop and office settings. Rare out-of-state travel may be required on short notice, potentially including weekends. The role involves customer interaction and requires maintaining professional communication and conduct with clients.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires the ability to lift objects up to 75 pounds on a regular basis and to stand or sit for extended periods. You may work in confined spaces, at heights, and in environments with moderate to loud noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment is required, including respirators, gloves, eye protection, and hard hats as needed.
