Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Controls Engineer Summer 2026 Intern. In this role, you will learn skills that will aid in spacecraft orientation and controls, develop controls code through various tools and platforms, and perform system tests to ensure valid results, and support. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of MATLAB and C,C++, and will be able to understand the dynamics of controlling spacecraft in space.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

* Pursuing a BS Degree (or higher) in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline focusing on control system design and analysis

* Academic background in Spacecraft Controls and Dynamics with some experience preferred

* Experience/knowledge of simulation and programming tools (ex. Matlab/Simulink, C++, Python)

* Ability/willingness to obtain a security clearance at a later date

Desired

Skills:

* Experience with flight software development and autocode to C++

* Experience working with Smallsats

* Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applications

* Mission operations experience

* Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Part-Time as assigned by leader

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $31,616 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
