Description:
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Program Management Manager to join the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program and lead the Dynamic Ballast System (DBS) mechanism development and production.
Location:
the selected candidate will need to be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in:
Sunnyvale CA , or Littleton CO and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate. What does this role look like? Join us where you will lead a team of engineers developing missile avionics for use across Lockheed Martin Space. In this role, you are responsible for managing an interdisciplinary engineering team in design, assembly, test and integration of development of avionics hardware.
Key responsibilities in this role:
• Lead the development of a new defense system.
• Direct team through development and production of the DBS mechanism.
• Lead cost, schedule, and technical effort related to management of scope, size, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, tracking.
• Preparation for and participation in Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), qualification testing and production.
• Leadership duties will also include the support of: selection, hiring and management of staff. To be effective in this role, you will need:
• 8+ years of professional experience for this role.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in procurement and
production management of missile/avionics mechanisms.
• Background in integrated product team leadership.
Desired
Skills:
• Past experience as a subsystem technical lead.
• Experience executing and documenting
technical trade studies.
• Past involvement with procurement and
management of supplier developed hardware to
include collaboration with program subcontract
management team.
• Ability to solve complex development or design
issues and experience in the failure
resolution/remediation process leading to
mission success.
• Prior success in a production environment
driving timely solutions for complicated supplier
issues.
• Strong communication skills, and experience presenting to peers, leadership, and/or customers.
• Must be adaptable to new situations and demonstrate self-initiative in solving complex problems.
• Experienced at leading teams through challenging engineering and/or programmatic issues.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
