Job SummaryExo Terra is seeking a full‑time Stress Engineer. The hired employee will be responsible for completing design, analysis, and test tasks as they relate to Hall‑effect thrusters, xenon and krypton propellant flow control systems, and electronic power systems.
Responsibilities and Duties- Perform stress analyses (modal, quasi‑static, random vibration, fatigue, tubing), in accordance with industry standards, of systems ranging from components to entire spacecraft, in order to support design development, verify customer requirements, and ensure functionality in applicable flight environments.
- Provide stress analysis support for multiple programs simultaneously.
- Understand customer‑specified requirements, interface with customers, present analysis results to customers in design reviews, and prepare reports of analysis results for delivery to customers.
- Support dynamic testing (random vibration, shock) of components and propulsion systems.
- Correlate stress models to test data.
- Support sign‑off of flight hardware for delivery to customers.
- Contribute to process and efficiency improvements.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with various teams, including program management, design, manufacturing, analysis, etc.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5–12 years of industry experience (pay commensurate with experience).
- Extensive experience with NASTRAN/FEMAP analysis software.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis.
- Strong mathematical foundation (calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, etc.).
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Engaged learner.
- Self‑starter.
