Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer II - Interim Secret clearance

As a GNC engineer on the Theater Strike Weapon System program portfolio—including Conventional Prompt Strike, Hypersonic Weapon Systems, Sea‑Launched Cruise Missile, and other dynamic programs—the selected candidate will be involved in the following activities:

• Apply missile guidance, navigation, and control expertise to algorithm development, signal and data processing, modeling, and simulation.
• Integrate Matlab/Simulink models into a 6‑DOF C++ simulation.
• Develop high‑fidelity models and simulation software.
• Write new source code in C++ and Python; modify existing code in C, C++, Matlab, Simulink, Fortran, Python, Linux shell, and YAML.
• Create unit tests and implement simulation software on a high‑performance computing cluster.
• Work in an Agile Dev Ops environment using Docker/Container and Kubernetes deployment.
• Collaborate with performance‑critical thinkers, the Flight Software team, and the customer.

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience and a post‑secondary degree or equivalent training.
• Broad technical skills in rigid body dynamics, control theory, and computer programming.
• Proven experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink for simulation and analysis of feedback control systems, closed‑loop guidance, or navigation algorithms.
• C/C++ programming experience.
• Strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.
• Ability to clearly document analysis results in presentation slides and engineering memos.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment.

• Experience with simulations and physics‑based modeling.
• Experience with state estimation and navigation algorithms, including Extended Kalman Filters.
• Experience with kinematics using Euler Angles and Quaternions.
• Experience with autopilot design and linear stability analysis.
• Familiarity or experience with missile defense systems or fire control.
• Experience with C++ development and Gitlab.
• Experience with FORTRAN and 6‑DOF simulations.
• Experience with model‑based software development using Simulink (autocoding).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus among peers and customers.
• Experience with agile software development.
• Distributed/parallel processing experience.
• Possession of a Secret clearance.

• Position requires U.S. citizenship.
• Applicants must be able to obtain Interim Secret clearance before start.
• Selected candidates must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for the duration of the assignment.
