For over 60 years, the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team has supported the Navy’s mission to provide affordable and credible strategic defense. The FBM program is experiencing significant growth and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of strategic deterrence.
Responsibilities- Work on a broad range of projects in both laboratory and manufacturing environments, challenging yourself to learn and grow in your career. Work side‑by‑side with designers, test and manufacturing engineering to develop and evaluate new and advanced technology to survive in the most hostile environments.
- Select Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) on new designs to defend our country, gain hands‑on manufacturing experience of the next satellite, or provide oversight to an extensive supply chain providing critical mission products.
- Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments.
- Solve problems and find creative solutions.
- Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes; prepare technical and progress reports, specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
- Coordinate with other fields such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
LocationThis position is in Denver, Colorado.
Compensation Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado is $70,100 - $123,625. The salary will reflect the candidate’s final work location and is a general guideline. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, key skills, and market and business considerations when extending an offer. Clearance Level: Top Secret Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
- Materials and process engineering related background and/or field of study.
- Knowledge in one or more of the following materials and processes engineering areas: metal finishing processes including plating, anodizing, chemical conversion coating; passivation or organic materials such as paints, adhesives, lubricants, bonding; components including circuit card assemblies and printed wiring boards (CCAs and PWBs).
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Material Sciences, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience conducting problem investigations, failure analysis, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience developing design, environmental and operational requirements for materials in aerospace applications.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications.
