Job Overview
Structural Design Engineer – Space Security & Intelligence (SPP/P277). This role supports space protection programs, focusing on the structural design of hardware, integration of subassemblies, and execution of production milestones.
Responsibilities- Support hardware design through key milestone design reviews into production.
- Manage and execute a subset of an integrated master schedule (IMS).
- Act as technical point of contact on mechanical sub‑assemblies feeding into larger assemblies, reporting issues and resolving technical problems.
- Interact across integrated product teams to develop unique solutions to complex problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent combined education/experience.
- Strong understanding of structural design, including bolted joint evaluation, tolerance analysis, and properties of metallic materials.
- Experience with CREO Parametric or equivalent CAD software.
- Experience utilizing EPDM (e.g., Windchill) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, with detailed tolerance analysis for machined details.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross‑team collaboration skills.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
- Self‑motivated with an active interest in learning and engaging with the team.
- US citizenship with an active Final Top Secret security clearance; willingness to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in structural design.
- Desired: 8+ years of experience and prior team‑lead experience in structural design.
