Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Description

We are seeking a senior mechanical engineer to aid in structural design activities for a next‑generation spacecraft program. Design support is required through preliminary design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR), and hardware production activity. The incumbent will assist in the development of the baseline design package, perform trade studies, and ensure a seamless transition of engineering data, requirements, and documentation into the detailed design phase and into production.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience/combined education
• Mechanical design skills using CREO or equivalent to develop 3D models and drawings
• Proficiency with Intermediate GD&T
• Demonstrated ability to work with multi‑disciplinary engineers to develop mechanical designs
• US Citizen required with the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Poly; no clearance required to start

• Experience generating PowerPoint chart content in support of design reviews
• Experience with design for manufacturability for aerospace hardware
• Proficiency performing assembly level tolerance analysis
• Proficiency performing bolted joint tolerance analysis
• Proficiency managing engineering data sets within configuration management tools

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full‑time – the work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For other states, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
