* Description:

** Lockheed Martin is seeking an Manufacturing Engineer for a position at the Mechanical Manufacturing Center  MMC , located on the Waterton Campus in Littleton, Colorado

The MMC Manufacturing Engineering team supports a variety of production areas, including additive manufacturing, traditional machining, mechanism assembly, composite fabrication, and structural assembly  The chosen candidate would join our collaborative team with a primary focus in traditional machining

Scope of responsibilities will include:

- Providing shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process for a specific program or production area

- Accomplish results by utilizing multi functional team, including Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, MRP/Parts Production Control, and Planning/Scheduling to meet program needs

- Providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques

- Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome

- Creating procedures and operations for the fabrication and/or rework of hardware

- Translate engineering drawings and parts lists into easy to follow work instructions for the production floor

- Writing production planning, inspecting and assessing defective hardware, and optimizing production flow to meet program deliverables

- Interfacing with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements to gain efficiencies and represent manufacturing in peer reviews of engineering drawings to enhance the design for manufacturability

- Contact with immediate supervisor or lead, project leaders, and other personnel in the section or group

* Basic Qualifications:

*
* - Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience/combined education

- This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen

- Previous machine shop experience

- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent processes  Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Q Notes, FOE/FOD, etc  

- Understanding of procedures, work instructions, technical writing or similar with technical publications

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, schematics, and specifications

- Independent problem solver

- Ability to form and maintain working relationships

** Desired

Skills:

* - Experience with programming in Master

CAM or similar programs

- Previous manufacturing experience

- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent tools  ERP/SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc  

- Previous Machine shop experience

- Understanding and application of fundamental GD&T principals

- Ability to collaborate with multiple job functions

- Experience with design for manufacturing
