As a Mechanical Engineer in this role you will:

* Perform solid modeling using ProE/CREO design tool

* Create associated 2D drafting drawings required to produce/procure hardware

* Develop and maintain product designs and specifications associated with hardware, working with in-house manufacturing, ATLO, procurement, outside suppliers and parts engineering to determine applicable requirements

* Review requirements from various sources (dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of the products

* Work in a product development environment on new designs as well as supporting existing and heritage applications.

* Ability to work with in house manufacturing, ATLO, and outside suppliers to drive them to deliver critical program hardware that meets requirements within applicable cost and schedule constraints

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical

Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related

technical field, or equivalent professional experience

* Mechanical design and/or integration knowledge

* Experience designing mechanisms

* Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD)

modeling and drafting with working knowledge of

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

(ASME Y14.5)

* Fundamental understanding of other engineering

disciplines including stress, dynamics, thermal

analysis, production, electronics, systems

engineering, etc.

* Experience with concept development, design,

review, manufacture, test, and integration

* Understanding of Mechanical Engineering

fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, and

materials

* US citizenship required with Interim Secret security clearance required to start

Desired

Skills:

* Master of Science in an Engineering Discipline related to the basic qualifications

* Experience as a Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or CPE delegate or equivalent

* Experience providing technical oversight of a subcontracted development effort

* Experience operating as a part of integrated product teams

* Experience with motors, bearings, gears, resolvers, and potentiometers

* Experience with rapid prototyping and concept development to be first to market

* Experience with MDA customers and consultants

* Functions well in a creative, high-tempo, collaborative, cross-functional, dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment

* Familiarity with LM Space processes, procedures, and tools (including EPDM/Windchill)

* Experience developing structures and mechanisms for missiles

* Excellent communication skills

* Experience with model-based definition (Data Set Rating
6)

* Highly proficient with Creo Parametric

* Experience supporting production of missile or spacecraft hardware

* Familiar with releasing drawings in EPDM 9.1

* Experience working with and overseeing manufacturing and/or outside suppliers

* MRB trained and certified

* Active secret security clearance
