Systems Engineer - Senior System Safety Engineer

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer to join our team at the Littleton, CO facility.

• Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).
• Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings.
• Develop and/or update System Safety documents to support Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements.
• Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements.
• Coordinate with test range safety teams and write range safety reports to support testing.
• Develop and maintain a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation actions.

• Experience using System Safety Standards.
• Experience with the development, documentation, and verification of system requirements.
• Knowledge and application of System Safety design and operations safety principles, including hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation, and associated deliverable documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

• Secret security clearance (or higher).
• Experience using MIL-STD-882E and AFSPCMAN 91-710, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards.
• Experience defining safety requirements, influencing design to integrate safety requirements, and verifying safety requirements.
• Software system safety experience.
• Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups.
• Experience with Satellite Programs.
• Familiarity with MBSE.
• Familiarity with DOORs.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen. TS/SCI clearance is required.

Duties are performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility (Littleton, CO).

Work schedule:

9x80, with every other Friday off.

Annual base salary range (varies by location): $73,400 – $129,260.
