Description: Electrical Component Engineer – Lockheed Martin Space, FBM Program, Littleton, CO
Lead and/or assist in the performance of Electrical Component (Parts) Engineering, development, and execution of the program Electrical Electronic Electromechanical (EEE) Parts management plan. Evaluate new technologies and work closely with survivability, designers, test and manufacturing engineers, agencies such as DLA, part manufacturers, and test labs to develop and evaluate innovative technology that can survive in harsh environments.
Responsibilities- Participate in EEE Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware design, manufacture, and test.
- Participate in the selection, qualification, test, and failure analysis of EEE Parts.
- Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement/Supply Chain organization.
- Work on electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits (ICs), hybrids, crystals, crystal oscillators, filters, fuses, heaters, magnetics, microcircuits, relays, semiconductors, and thermistors.
- Travel and work closely with suppliers and government agencies to ensure electronic component selections meet quality and performance requirements.
- Experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits, including devices such as relays, hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, and capacitors.
- Knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials, and processes used in EEE parts.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams.
- Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics, or a related field of study.
- Familiarity with technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements) and major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR.
- Basic understanding of Nuclear effects on EEE parts and ability to work closely with Survivability Engineers in strategic Rad Hard applications.
- Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements, worst‑case analysis (WCA), EEE parts derating, and end‑of‑life requirements.
- Ability to evaluate current and developing technologies for EEE parts in complex design packages.
- Experience or knowledge of failure analysis, destructive physical analysis, and/or root‑cause and corrective action analysis related to EEE parts.
- Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).
- Active or current Secret clearance or higher.
